26th Annual Golf Tournament Raises Over $64,000

Gently rolling fairways, sloping greens and an afternoon out of the office with your buddies, oh the joys of GOLF!

The 26th Annual Golf Classic to benefit Challenge Discovery Projects took place on Thursday, April 28 and raised over 64,000! Over 130 golfers played a great round of golf and enjoyed a fabulous dinner while they bid on a unique array of silent auction gifts including, tickets to the U.S. Open, the Masters and The Dave Matthews Band. A Taylor Made R11 Driver was the showstopper on the raffle table.

The event, sponsored by Kings Dominion, was held at Independence Golf Club this year. Independence, designed by world renowned Tom Fazio and operated by the Virginia State Golf Association Foundation, was honored in 2009-2010 by Golf World's Readers Choice Awards as the No.3 Best Public Golf Course in the Country, as well as the No.1 Best Public Practice Facility in the Country.
