Cyndy Weldon-Lassiter, Ed.D.
Executive Director
Dr. Cynthia Weldon-Lassiter has dedicated 30 years to education and nonprofit leadership. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, as well as a doctorate in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University. Driven by the belief that all children deserve access to high-quality education and mental health services, she advocates for stakeholder collaboration to serve children best.
Cyndy has also worked as a consultant for a national agency based in Charlottesville, where she led and collaborated on school administrative searches, mentored professionals, and supported teacher recruitment efforts at Virginia colleges, with an emphasis on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Previously, Cyndy served as the Head of School at a tuition-free K-5 school in Richmond, which has upheld its mission since 1894. She has taught in several institutions, including the Chesterfield County Public School system, The Collegiate School in Richmond, Montclair Kimberley Academy in Montclair, NJ, and Pace University in New York City. Cyndy and her husband, Dr. Milan Lassiter, have three sons: Tate, Cole, and Dane.
